¶ URS Retreat in AnnweilerAs the initial stages of the URS-projects have been established, BGE called for a milestone meeting in the form the First URS Retreat among the URS members. The 3-day event took place in Annweiler am Trifels between the 17th - 19th of April, 2023. With over 30 participants from the project partners, BGE staff and a few other invited experts, the retreat included both progress reports and extensive discussion about project specific materials and possible future collaborations. |
As a courtesy of BGE, a 3-day long retreat took place in Annweiler am Trifels hosting the 6 projects participating in the URS-cluster. The 31 invitees included both principal representatives of the member research institutes and the responsible supperters from BGE. During the event, each project gave an 60-90 min presentation introducing the research topic and showing preliminary results achieved in the past year. The presentations were followed with discussion, primarly focused on possible collaboration between the projects, as well as possible data sharing. A brief summary of each project presentation is given below. For more detailed information, the reader is kindly invited to visit the individual project section on the side menu or have a look on the uploaded file under the program section. Presentation summaries in order of appearance:
Besides the project discussions, the event hosted ice-breaking evening programs as an informal information exchange platform for the participants, and an excursion was orginazed to visit the Kuhn Quarry near Waldhambach still operating under PfalzGranit GmbH, guided by Jens C. Grimmer from Vulcan Energy Subsurface Solutions GmbH. |
